visiting Beth

We went to visit Beth at her new place, which is sooooooo cool. My camera batteries died not long after we got there, so I only have a couple of pictures. There is a neat little pond behind her cabin, so we took the boat out. That was really fun, even when it started taking on water. oops! We got to see lots of beautiful horses, especially her wild mustang, Shiloh. Although I think Silas' favorite part was riding around the property in the jeep.

Great-Grandparents

Silas often gets to spend time with his great-grandparents that live here in town. On this day, we spend the afternoon with my mom's parents. Silas loves going over there because they laugh at everything he does, and he feels like he is a very funny boy. He is also having fun playing with the stuffed bear that my aunt made.

Children's Museum of Atlanta

In August, we visited the Children's Museum of Atlanta with Scott and Tracey. It was SOOOO coool!!! If anyone has the chance to go there, I couldn't believe how much fun it was. If it tells you anything, Silas stayed busy - doing all different things - for TWO hours! And with a toddler's attention span at that! Here are some of the things we did...

This was one of his favorites. It was a model of a produce/grocery truck that he LOVED to "drive".

Elmo!!

There were all kinds of neat mechanical things there - pulleys and levers. This thing is operated by turning a wheel and pulling on some ropes. With it, you can catch these balls that fall from a conveyer-belt type thing and drop them into a ball pit. Fun.

Water toys and moon sand.

Painting :)

Tracey and Scott had fun too!

Yes!! You are right, we ARE on Sesame Street!!! As you can tell, Jason and I are probably more excited about it than our child was...but oh well!! We were on Sesame Street!!

Beach vacation

We enjoyed a nice, relaxing vacation in Destin, Florida this summer. We went with the Cheneys for our annual Chengay vacation. The drive down there was hellacious, but the condo was wonderful - Thanks D.R.! We did a whole lotta nothin'.

Actually, that's not true because Silas was busy as ever and he LOVED the water. Scared? Nooooo. He would make a run for it and try to get in the ocean by himself. He's Daddy's boy!

I love this picture...Jason and Silas are watching dolphins swim.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE!!!! We celebrated her 31st with a half-cake. :) hee hee. It was a "surprise", so that's why she looks..um...surprised.

Goodbye!!! This was one of Silas' favorite things to do - RUN!!

new posts

Hello!! Okay, I am so sorry that I haven't posted anything all summer. So, I've added lots to try and get you updated. I still have to add pictures from our beach trip w/ the Cheneys and I'll do that soon I promise.

We've been busy, as usual. This summer, we spent a lot of time at the pool. Silas did great, and has had a great time learning to swim all over the place. I took a couple of summer session classes and taught during the month of June at a local pre-K. Jason is working hard as ever and is doing wonderfully at Lowe's.

It's hard to believe that summer is already over!! Fall semester just started, and I started my new job as a teacher of three-and-four year olds!!! I'll be teaching three mornings a week, from 9-1 and Silas goes to the same school too (but he's in a different class). We're really excited about this nice change and hope that we both do well here! :)

Silas also started taking gymnastics classes on Thursday mornings. His friend Aaron is in the same class so he loves that. Jason took him for his first day today and said that he had a lot of fun hanging on the bars, jumping (running across) the trampoline, and singing the Hokey Pokey.

I'll try to do a better job keeping pictures updated!!! Happy end-of-the-summer.

Love,
Stacey, Jason and Silas

visit to Grammy's

In July, Silas spent the weekend with his Grammy and Reginald in the mountains. He loves going up there to feed the birds, watch the deer, turkey and squirrels, and run up and down the fun ramp. He looks quite mischievous in some of these pictures...
