more July 4th

After we left the zoo, we had a little picnic. It was fun, and pretty short, because you can tell by these pictures that we are both pretty hot and tired by this time.

Little Miss Evie enjoyoed herself, napping happily the whole time.

She is getting so big!!

Post-picnic Silas was wiped out!

Happy Fourth of July!

To celebrate July 4th, we took a trip to Memorial Park. Silas got to feed the ducks but NOT the geese! I hate those!) and we went on a scavenger hunt. He had fun finding the things on his list and collecting them in his special Scavenger Hunt bag.
The weather was actually pretty nice and we had fun walking around. He met a little friend, whose name was Peyton, and they walked around holding hands for almost an hour (they had never met before then). She and her parents walked with us to the zoo, where we saw the bear, a groundhog, some deer, and a bald eagle. That was all we had time for before we got hungry :)

things to smile about

We have had a great summer so far! There are so many things that we are thankful for at this time in our lives :) Our babies are happy and healthy. Evie is 6 weeks old and is starting to smile now! Silas is doing great with potty training and is very proud of himself - as he should be! That's a big deal! We're proud too. I am very happy about my recent haircut. Ahhhh. I loooooove it. Happy summer! Next comes Silas' THIRD birthday and our beach vacation. We can't wait!

Here is the picture I was able to get of Evie smiling. She just gets cuter every day.

Here, Silas shows you his big boy underwear! Woo hoo!!

Two cuties

Evie is 3 weeks now and is really sweet and fun. Here she is, alert amd loving bath time. She and Silas hang out afterwards, and big bro entertains her while I get her dressed for bed. He seems to like his new role as a big brother!!

Love those kids!

We are really enjoying our summer so far! It's great being able to stay home and spend lots of time with Silas and Evie. Silas has been going running and to the pool a lot with Daddy! Evie is learning to enjoy her baths. Her first one wasn't her favorite thing, but now she likes it much more :)

Silas holds Evie's hand in the car when she cries.

So sweet.

Here she is at two weeks old.

Where is Silas, that silly kid?

Geneva Tate Gay

Welcome, Evie!!

Our sweet little girl was born on Tuesday, May 13 at 12:42am. She weighed 7 lb. 13 oz. and was 20 1/4" long. She is very healthy, has long fingers and toes, Mommy's nose and Daddy's eyes! We are so happy to have both of our babies. Silas is doing great as a big brother and we look forward to posting lots of fun pictures from this summer :)

This last one is from her first days at home. So sweet!!

One month left!!

Yay, we only have about one month left before our little girl gets here! Maybe a little sooner, maybe a little later - but getting pretty close either way!! She is growing so fast and it's been fun feeling her move around. Her movements have gotten much smaller and less frequent in the last few weeks. I can certainly tell that she is running out of room!

Here are two belly pictures - the first one is from 5 1/2 months and the second one is from 7 1/2 months. What a difference!!

Here is the bedding that we picked out for her room! Jason painted the room a light yellow color and it looks so sweet and cute in there.

Vogel State Park

During our Spring Break in mid-March, we spent a few days up at Vogel State Park in the North Georgia mountains. I grew up camping there in the summers, so it was interesting being back after all these years - and there was virtually no one else there! We stayed in a cabin this time, though, instead of camping because it was in the 50's and drizzling the day we arrived. So, we opted for comfort, nice beds, a kitchen, a fireplace, and a bathroom that we could use without going out into the cold first. It was so much fun and a much needed, relaxing mini-vacation .

SCENERY

Creek behind the cabin, views from the trail around the lake, another creek in the campground that Silas liked to run beside and throw rocks into.

THE CABIN...not super fancy but oh, so niiiiice :) We have really missed having a fireplace inside, so that was fun. And having a campfire always makes for a good time.

CHILD'S PLAY...

Cutie pie on a rock.

Hiking with Daddy and Mommy around the lake.

First taste of roasted marshallows....mmm....

We spent a lot of time throwing rocks into the creek, hanging out by the campfire, and playing on the playground.

Silas was also very proud when he found an "H" and a Triangle.

By the way, this is how a 2-and-a half year old plays putt-putt.
