Grammy is Teacher of the Year

Silas' Grammy (Stacey's mom) was selected as the Teacher of the Year for her school! We went to the awards ceremony on January 30th to see her receive her award and plaque. Uncle Scott and (almost-Aunt) Tracey, Boo, and Silas' great-grandparents went and Reginald was there also.

One of Mom's students came and spoke to the audience about why Mrs. Landers is a good teacher. He was really cute talking about how she has helped him to spell correctly, and that she "lets" them take spelling tests on Thursdays and Fridays. He said that she is really nice, which she is! The other students talking about their respective teachers were also very touching, and it was nice to see teachers being recognized in such a nice way.

Here are some 6 month pictures of Silas!
He is so active now, and really loves his activity-station thing (see picture with strange purple object) and the jumper. He's eating lots of solid foods and is sitting up pretty well, too! We swear he's trying to say "kitty cat" and loves to pet (grab) our cat Legolas (see evidence below). Cutie pie!!! He is just so much fun.

Also: HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY to Silas' cousin Ethan!! We love you. And Pat. Happy Birthday Pat, we love you too.

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations are in order for few of reasons...

Scott and Tracey are ENGAGED!!! Woo hoo!!! We are so excited. Scott asked her to marry him right before Christmas. They both work in Atlanta for Q100 (radio station), and there is a little blurb on the Q100 site talking about how Scott asked her. Travis and Jessica found out they are having a BOY!!!! He is due in early June, and we can't wait to meet him! Silas is super excited about having another cousin, and one that is so close to his age, too! We smell trouble! We've put a link to Travis and Jessica's blog page on our site, so you can get to them from here too. They're posting pictures of Jessica's growing belly and other fun stuff. YAY!

Also - my mom got TEACHER OF THE YEAR at her school!! Yahoo!! She is the best! We are so proud of you.

Spend-the-night at Grammy's

In January, Silas spent the night at my mom and Reginald's house in the mountains!! Here are some pictures from his fun trip to visit his Grammy.
















Here is a picture of Reginald and Silas looking out the window at the squirrels at the birdfeeder. Mom said that Si really loved watching the critters out there. I don't think they saw any turkeys - maybe next time.

December pictures

Silas did lots of visiting between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Here he is visiting with two more of his great-grandparents! What a lucky boy to have so many people that love him. Sorry we don't have any Christmas pictures yet. We'll add them soon hopefully.


Here are his great-grandmother and great-grandfather - Stacey's grandparents. This is the Joseph that Silas Joseph is named after! Aren't they cute together?
















On December 17th Silas turned 5 months old! He is such a healthy, fun boy. He smiles and laughs all the time.



















Big boys eat cereal!! Silas has started on baby food and he loves it. This was his very first taste of baby rice cereal, which he sort of liked, even if you can't tell from the picture! We've added lots more since then and he likes squash and applesauce the most.

Thanksgiving at Daga's

Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving! Sorry it took me so long to get these up on the site.
We spent Thanksgiving day at Jason's grandmother's house visiting with LOTS of family. Silas got to spend lots of time with his cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.


Here is Silas with his second cousin, Matthew. These guys are birthday buddies! Born on the same day. Hooray for July 17th!


















Silas really enjoyed spending time with Daga, his great-grandmother! She is wonderful with Silas. Thanks for the cute stuffed animal, Daga. It sure is fun to chew on.
February 2006: We are so sad to say that Daga passed away. Her passing leaves a big hole in our hearts and she is missed every single day. Our prayers are with Dianne and her other children, her husband John and with everyone that loves and misses her.
